Argentina carries a reputation of being a world class fly fishing destination, with Golden Dorado in the Northwest, healthy brown, brook, rainbow trout and landlocked salmon fisheries in Patagonia, and the famed sea-run brown trout in southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. A majority of the fly fishing is found on the west side of the country, not far from the Andes mountains. The further east you travel in Patagonia, the more barren and windswept the land becomes.
Argentines are very social people, easily approachable and often keen for a lengthy conversation. Many live a laid back lifestyle, evident in all the consumption of yerba mate. You may come across some Argentines who speak English in Buenos Aires, but once you begin to travel south, you will find that most locals only speak Spanish.
